The Dougy Center guides children and families through the bereavement process through a variety of support services, from drop in counseling to group therapy, all provided at no charge.  

For their fundraising gala centerpiece we explored the vital role that the Dougy Center plays—both in Portland and across the nation—through the heartbreaking story of Robbie and Alissa Parker, whose daughter Emily was a victim of the Sandy Hook shooting.  With the help of Dougy-trained volunteers dispatched to Newtown immediately following the disaster, the Parker family began their healing process, a road which eventually led them to Portland where they continue to support and be supported by the Dougy Center.
